    सततं कीर्तयन्तो मां यतन्तश्च दृढव्रताः । नमस्यन्तश्च मां भक्त्या नित्ययुक्ता उपासते ॥ ९-१४॥satataM kIrtayanto mAM yatantazca dRDhavratAH । namasyantazca mAM bhaktyA nityayuktA upAsate ॥ 9-14॥Always glorifying Me and striving, the men of firm vows worship Me by paying obeisance to Me and being ever endowed with devotion.

    दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया । मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते ॥ ७-१४॥daivI hyeSA guNamayI mama mAyA duratyayA । mAmeva ye prapadyante mAyAmetAM taranti te ॥ 7-14॥Since this divine Maya of Mine which is constituted by the gunas is difficult to cross over, (therefore) those who take refuge in Me alone cross over this Maya.

    अवजानन्ति मां मूढा मानुषीं तनुमाश्रितम् । परं भावमजानन्तो मम भूतमहेश्वरम् ॥ ९-११॥avajAnanti mAM mUDhA mAnuSIM tanumAzritam । paraM bhAvamajAnanto mama bhUtamahezvaram ॥ 9-11॥Not knowing My supreme nature as Paramatma ( the Lord ) of all beings, foolish people disregard Me who have taken a human body.

    त्रिभिर्गुणमयैर्भावैरेभिः सर्वमिदं जगत् । मोहितं नाभिजानाति मामेभ्यः परमव्ययम् ॥ ७-१३॥tribhirguNamayairbhAvairebhiH sarvamidaM jagat । mohitaM nAbhijAnAti mAmebhyaH paramavyayam ॥ 7-13॥The entire universe is deluded by these three states originating from the Gunas (of Prakrti), and fails to recognise Me, who am beyond them and immutable.

    ये चैव सात्त्विका भावा राजसास्तामसाश्च ये । मत्त एवेति तान्विद्धि न त्वहं तेषु ते मयि ॥ ७-१२॥balaM balavatAM cAhaM kAmarAgavivarjitam । dharmAviruddho bhUteSu kAmo'smi bharatarSabha ॥ 7-11॥Know that all those states of Sattva (pure), Rajas (active) and Tamas (inert) are from Me alone. But I am not in them; they are in Me.

    प्रकृतिं स्वामवष्टभ्य विसृजामि पुनः पुनः । भूतग्राममिमं कृत्स्नमवशं प्रकृतेर्वशात् ॥ ९-८॥prakRtiM svAmavaSTabhya visRjAmi punaH punaH । bhUtagrAmamimaM kRtsnamavazaM prakRtervazAt ॥ 9-8॥Controlling the Prakrti, which is My own, I send forth again and again all this multitude of beings, helpless by the force of the Nature.

    बलं बलवतां चाहं कामरागविवर्जितम् । धर्माविरुद्धो भूतेषु कामोऽस्मि भरतर्षभ ॥ ७-११॥balaM balavatAM cAhaM kAmarAgavivarjitam । dharmAviruddho bhUteSu kAmo'smi bharatarSabha ॥ 7-11॥O scion of the Bharata dyansty, in the strong, I am strength, devoid of desire and passion. In all beings, I am the desire which is not forbidden by law (Dharma).

    बीजं मां सर्वभूतानां विद्धि पार्थ सनातनम् । बुद्धिर्बुद्धिमतामस्मि तेजस्तेजस्विनामहम् ॥ ७-१०॥bIjaM mAM sarvabhUtAnAM viddhi pArtha sanAtanam । buddhirbuddhimatAmasmi tejastejasvinAmaham ॥ 7-10॥O Partha, know Me to be the eternal Seed of all beings. I am the intellect of the intelligent, and the brilliance of the brilliant.

    न च मत्स्थानि भूतानि पश्य मे योगमैश्वरम् । भूतभृन्न च भूतस्थो ममात्मा भूतभावनः ॥ ९-५॥na ca matsthAni bhUtAni pazya me yogamaizvaram । bhUtabhRnna ca bhUtastho mamAtmA bhUtabhAvanaH ॥ 9-5॥And yet beings do not abide in Me. Behold My divine Yoga. I am the upholder of all beings and yet I am not in them. My will alone causes their existence.
