You may listen as I narrate, Raghava, whose hermitage is this factually, and which great soul has resentfully cursed this. ॥ 1-48-14॥

    मिथिलोपवने तत्र आश्रमं दृश्य राघवः । पुराणं निर्जनं रम्यं पप्रच्छ मुनिपुंगवम् ॥ १-४८-११mithilopavane tatra AzramaM dRzya rAghavaH । purANaM nirjanaM ramyaM papraccha munipuMgavam ॥ 1-48-11At the sight of an old uninhabited, beautiful and desolate hermitage in a grove near Mithila, the descendant of the Raghus ( Rama ) enquired of the foremost among the ascetics ( Vishvamitra ) ॥ 1-48-11॥

    ततः परमसत्कारं सुमतेः प्राप्य राघवौ । उष्य तत्र निशामेकां जग्मतुर्मिथिलां ततः ॥ १-४८-९tataH paramasatkAraM sumateH prApya rAghavau । uSya tatra nizAmekAM jagmaturmithilAM tataH ॥ 1-48-9The descendants of Raghu (Rama and Lakshmana) having received great honour from Sumati, stayed there one night ( along with Vishvamitra and the community of sages ) and thereafter set out for Mithila. ॥ 1-48-9॥
