    ज्ञाननिष्ठा द्विजाः के चित् तपोनिष्ठास्तथाऽपरे । तपःस्वाध्यायनिष्ठाश्च कर्मनिष्ठास्तथाऽपरे ॥ १३४ ॥jJAnaniSThA dvijAH ke cit taponiSThAstathA'pare । tapaHsvAdhyAyaniSThAzca karmaniSThAstathA'pare ॥ 134 ॥Some Brahmanas are devoted to (the pursuit of) knowledge, and others to (the performance of) austerities; some to austerities and to the recitation of the Veda, and others to (the performance of) sacred rites.

Even after hearing about the kind of destruction (of Ravana, his kingdom etc.) from Rama, out of delusion you are accepting (with Ravana). ॥ 6-15-10॥

Thus, casting aside (the sensory objects) and withdrawing (the senses) within, one abides in one's own self.

    राजा च श्रोत्रियश्चैव यज्ञकर्मण्युपस्थितौ । मधुपर्केण सम्पूज्यौ न त्वयज्ञ इति स्थितिः ॥ १२० ॥rAjA ca zrotriyazcaiva yajJakarmaNyupasthitau । madhuparkeNa sampUjyau na tvayajJa iti sthitiH ॥ 120 ॥A king and a Srotriya, who come on the performance of a sacrifice, must be honoured with the honey￾mixture, but not if no sacrifice is being performed; that is a settled rule.

    आत्मनो निर्विकारस्य क ज्ञानं क च वा क्रिया । ज्ञानायत्ता बहिर्भावा अतः शून्यमिदं जगत् ॥ १३४ ॥Atmano nirvikArasya ka jJAnaM ka ca vA kriyA । jJAnAyattA bahirbhAvA ataH zUnyamidaM jagat ॥ 134 ॥How can there be knowledge or activity of the changeless atman, or self? All external objects are under the control of knowledge. Therefore, this world is void.

By your command, I will take on the decrepitude and govern the kingdom.' ॥ 1-70-41 ॥

    राजर्त्विग्स्नातकगुरून् प्रियश्वशुरमातुलान् । अर्हयेन् मधुपर्केण परिसंवत्सरात् पुनः ॥ ११९ ॥rAjartvigsnAtakagurUn priyazvazuramAtulAn । arhayen madhuparkeNa parisaMvatsarAt punaH ॥ 119 ॥Let him honour with the honey-mixture a king, an officiating priest, a Snataka, the teacher, a son-in-law, a father-in-law, and a maternal uncle, (if they come) again after a full year (has elapsed since their last visit).

Fifty sons of Manu were also born on Earth. From their differences with each other, it is heard that they all established their dominions.' ॥ 1-70-15 ॥
