With the colour of glowing minerals exuding, it was as if the mountain was looking out with his eyes open. (The minerals underneath the mud appear when wind blows removing the dust covering them. The glowing minerals are fancied to be eyes of the mountain.) ॥ 5-56-11॥

    वेदोदितं स्वकं कर्म नित्यं कुर्यादतन्द्रितः । तद् हि कुर्वन् यथाशक्ति प्राप्नोति परमां गतिम् ॥ १४ ॥vedoditaM svakaM karma nityaM kuryAdatandritaH । tad hi kurvan yathAzakti prApnoti paramAM gatim ॥ 14 ॥Let him, untired, perform daily the rites prescribed for him in the Veda; for he who performs those according to his ability, attains to the highest state.
