The thunderbolt having a hundred nodes deployed by Indra . - ॥ 3-71-10॥

    दीर्घमायुस्स मे प्रादात्ततो मां विभ्रमोऽस्पृशत् । दीर्घमायुर्मया प्राप्तं किं मे शक्रः करिष्यति ॥ ३-७१-९dIrghamAyussa me prAdAttato mAM vibhramo'spRzat । dIrghamAyurmayA prAptaM kiM me zakraH kariSyati ॥ 3-71-9He blessed me with long life. Then this pride and confusion overtook me. Having been blessed with long life and thinking, what can Indra do to me? ॥ 3-71-9॥

    इन्द्रकोपादिदं रूपं प्राप्तमेवं रणाजिरे । अहं हि तपसोग्रेण पितामहमतोषयम् ॥ ३-७१-८indrakopAdidaM rUpaM prAptamevaM raNAjire । ahaM hi tapasogreNa pitAmahamatoSayam ॥ 3-71-8By the wrath of Indra in the battlefield I obtained this form. I pleased the creator Brahma with great penance. ॥ 3-71-8॥

    तदा त्वं प्राप्स्यसे रूपं स्वमेव विपुलं शुभम् । श्रिया विराजितं पुत्रं दनोस्त्वं विद्धि लक्ष्मण ॥ ३-७१-७tadA tvaM prApsyase rUpaM svameva vipulaM zubham । zriyA virAjitaM putraM danostvaM viddhi lakSmaNa ॥ 3-71-7- then you would get back your gloriously auspicious form.' Oh ! Lakshmana know that I was the prosperous son of demon Danu. ॥ 3-71-7॥

    अभिशापकृतस्येति तेनेदं भाषितं वचः । यदा छित्त्वा भुजौ रामस्त्वां दहेद्विजने वने ॥ ३-७१-६abhizApakRtasyeti tenedaM bhASitaM vacaH । yadA chittvA bhujau rAmastvAM dahedvijane vane ॥ 3-71-6- pronounced on me?' he said these words 'When Rama gets your arms in a desolate forest amputated and ( your body ) cremated . - ॥ 3-71-6॥

    न वै स नरकं याति नेक्षितो यमकिङ्करैः । यद्यप्यमङ्गलो मर्त्यो विष्णुलोके महीयते ॥ ६-२-४८ ॥na vai sa narakaM yAti nekSito yamakiGkaraiH । yadyapyamaGgalo martyo viSNuloke mahIyate ॥ 6-2-48 ॥Indeed, the Yamadūtas, who carry out the orders of Yamarāja, do not approach him even to see him. After giving up his body, he returns home, back to Godhead, where he is very respectfully received and worshiped. ॥ 6-2-48 ॥

    य एवं परमं गुह्यमितिहासमघापहम् । श‍ृणुयाच्छ्रद्धया युक्तो यश्च भक्त्यानुकीर्तयेत् ॥ ६-२-४७ ॥ya evaM paramaM guhyamitihAsamaghApaham । za‍RNuyAcchraddhayA yukto yazca bhaktyAnukIrtayet ॥ 6-2-47 ॥Because this very confidential historical narration has the potency to vanquish all sinful reactions, one who hears or describes it with faith and devotion is no longer doomed to hellish life, regardless of his having a material body and regardless of how sinful he may have been. ॥ 6-2-47 ॥
