    एते बहुविधाः शोका विलापरुदिते तथा । वर्जनीया हि धीरेण सर्वावस्थासु धीमता ॥ २-१०५-३९ete bahuvidhAH zokA vilAparudite tathA । varjanIyA hi dhIreNa sarvAvasthAsu dhImatA ॥ 2-105-39A wise man, holding on to his fortitude in all circumstances, should avoid such occasions of grief, these words of lamentation and this crying. ॥ 2-105-39॥

    आयुरुत्तममासाद्य भोगानपि च राघवः । स न शोच्यः पिता तात स्वर्गतः सत्कृतः सताम् ॥ २-१०५-३६AyuruttamamAsAdya bhogAnapi ca rAghavaH । sa na zocyaH pitA tAta svargataH satkRtaH satAm ॥ 2-105-36Oh ! dear, our father king Dasaratha, who was honoured by the virtuous and enjoyed the best of pleasures attained heaven after a long life. Therefore, he is not to be grieved over. ॥ 2-105-36॥

    कर्मभिस्तु शुभैरिष्टैः क्रतुभिश्चाप्तदक्षिणैः । स्वर्गं दशरथः प्राप्तः पिता नः पृथिवीपतिः ॥ २-१०५-३४karmabhistu zubhairiSTaiH kratubhizcAptadakSiNaiH । svargaM dazarathaH prAptaH pitA naH pRthivIpatiH ॥ 2-105-34Dasaratha, our father and lord of the earth, reached heaven by performing auspicious acts and offering abundant charities in sacrifices. ॥ 2-105-34॥

    भृत्यानां भरणात्सम्यक्प्रजानां परिपालनात् । अर्थादानाच्च धर्मेण पिता न स्त्रिदिवंगतः ॥ २-१०५-३३bhRtyAnAM bharaNAtsamyakprajAnAM paripAlanAt । arthAdAnAcca dharmeNa pitA na stridivaMgataH ॥ 2-105-33Our father nourished his dependents, splendidly governed his subjects and accepted wealth through righteous ways. Because of these pious acts, he could go to heaven. ॥ 2-105-33॥
