    कालोऽयं परमाण्वादिर्द्विपरार्धान्त ईश्वरः । नैवेशितुं प्रभुर्भूम्न ईश्वरो धाममानिनाम् ।। ३-११-३८ ।।kAlo'yaM paramANvAdirdviparArdhAnta IzvaraH | naivezituM prabhurbhUmna Izvaro dhAmamAninAm || 3-11-38 ||Eternal time is certainly the controller of different dimensions, from that of the atom up to the superdivisions of the duration of Brahmā’s life; but, nevertheless, it is controlled by the Supreme. Time can control only those who are body conscious, even up to the Satyaloka or the other higher planets of the universe. ।। 3-11-38 ।।

    अयं तु कथितः कल्पो द्वितीयस्यापि भारत । वाराह इति विख्यातो यत्रासीत्सूकरो हरिः ।। ३-११-३६ ।।ayaM tu kathitaH kalpo dvitIyasyApi bhArata | vArAha iti vikhyAto yatrAsItsUkaro hariH || 3-11-36 ||O descendant of Bharata, the first millennium in the second half of the life of Brahmā is also known as the Vārāha millennium because the Personality of Godhead appeared in that millennium as the hog incarnation. ।। 3-11-36 ।।

    पूर्वस्यादौ परार्धस्य ब्राह्मो नाम महानभूत् । कल्पो यत्राभवद्ब्रह्मा शब्दब्रह्मेति यं विदुः ।। ३-११-३४ ।।pUrvasyAdau parArdhasya brAhmo nAma mahAnabhUt | kalpo yatrAbhavadbrahmA zabdabrahmeti yaM viduH || 3-11-34 ||In the beginning of the first half of Brahmā’s life, there was a millennium called Brāhma-kalpa, wherein Lord Brahmā appeared. The birth of the Vedas was simultaneous with Brahmā’s birth. ।। 3-11-34 ।।

    यदर्धमायुषस्तस्य परार्धमभिधीयते । पूर्वः परार्धोऽपक्रान्तो ह्यपरोऽद्य प्रवर्तते ।। ३-११-३३ ।।yadardhamAyuSastasya parArdhamabhidhIyate | pUrvaH parArdho'pakrAnto hyaparo'dya pravartate || 3-11-33 ||The one hundred years of Brahmā’s life are divided into two parts, the first half and the second half. The first half of the duration of Brahmā’s life is already over, and the second half is now current. ।। 3-11-33 ।।

    एवं विधैरहोरात्रैः कालगत्योपलक्षितैः । अपक्षितमिवास्यापि परमायुर्वयः शतम् ।। ३-११-३२ ।।evaM vidhairahorAtraiH kAlagatyopalakSitaiH | apakSitamivAsyApi paramAyurvayaH zatam || 3-11-32 ||Thus the process of the exhaustion of the duration of life exists for every one of the living beings, including Lord Brahmā. One’s life endures for only one hundred years, in terms of the times in the different planets. ।। 3-11-32 ।।

    अन्तः स तस्मिन् सलिल आस्तेऽनन्तासनो हरिः । योगनिद्रानिमीलाक्षः स्तूयमानो जनालयैः ।। ३-११-३१ ।।antaH sa tasmin salila Aste'nantAsano hariH | yoganidrAnimIlAkSaH stUyamAno janAlayaiH || 3-11-31 ||The Supreme Lord, the Personality of Godhead, lies down in the water on the seat of Ananta, with His eyes closed, and the inhabitants of the Janaloka planets offer unto the Lord their glorious prayers with folded hands. ।। 3-11-31 ।।

    तावत्त्रिभुवनं सद्यः कल्पान्तैधितसिन्धवः । प्लावयन्त्युत्कटाटोपचण्डवातेरितोर्मयः ।। ३-११-३० ।।tAvattribhuvanaM sadyaH kalpAntaidhitasindhavaH | plAvayantyutkaTATopacaNDavAteritormayaH || 3-11-30 ||At the beginning of the devastation all the seas overflow, and hurricane winds blow very violently. Thus the waves of the seas become ferocious, and in no time at all the three worlds are full of water. ।। 3-11-30 ।।

    त्रिलोक्यां दह्यमानायां शक्त्या सङ्कर्षणाग्निना । यान्त्यूष्मणा महर्लोकाज्जनं भृग्वादयोऽर्दिताः ।। ३-११-२९ ।।trilokyAM dahyamAnAyAM zaktyA saGkarSaNAgninA | yAntyUSmaNA maharlokAjjanaM bhRgvAdayo'rditAH || 3-11-29 ||The devastation takes place due to the fire emanating from the mouth of Saṅkarṣaṇa, and thus great sages like Bhṛgu and other inhabitants of Maharloka transport themselves to Janaloka, being distressed by the warmth of the blazing fire which rages through the three worlds below. ।। 3-11-29 ।।
