अभू॑द्दे॒वः स॑वि॒ता वन्द्यो॒ नु न॑ इ॒दानी॒मह्न॑ उप॒वाच्यो॒ नृभि॑: । वि यो रत्ना॒ भज॑ति मान॒वेभ्य॒: श्रेष्ठं॑ नो॒ अत्र॒ द्रवि॑णं॒ यथा॒ दध॑त् ॥ अभूद्देवः सविता वन्द्यो नु न इदानीमह्न उपवाच्यो नृभिः । वि यो रत्ना भजति मानवेभ्यः श्रेष्ठं नो अत्र द्रविणं यथा दधत् ॥
The divine Savitā has been manifested; he is at once to be glorified by us; he is to be praised by the priests at the present (rite), and at the close (of the day), in order that he who apportions precious things to be descendants of Manu may bestow upon us, on this occasion, most excellent wealth.
english translation
दे॒वेभ्यो॒ हि प्र॑थ॒मं य॒ज्ञिये॑भ्योऽमृत॒त्वं सु॒वसि॑ भा॒गमु॑त्त॒मम् । आदिद्दा॒मानं॑ सवित॒र्व्यू॑र्णुषेऽनूची॒ना जी॑वि॒ता मानु॑षेभ्यः ॥ देवेभ्यो हि प्रथमं यज्ञियेभ्योऽमृतत्वं सुवसि भागमुत्तमम् । आदिद्दामानं सवितर्व्यूर्णुषेऽनूचीना जीविता मानुषेभ्यः ॥
First you engender for the adorable gods the best portion, immortality; then, Savitā, you set open (the day) to the donor (of the oblation), and (grant) successive existences to men.
english translation
अचि॑त्ती॒ यच्च॑कृ॒मा दैव्ये॒ जने॑ दी॒नैर्दक्षै॒: प्रभू॑ती पूरुष॒त्वता॑ । दे॒वेषु॑ च सवित॒र्मानु॑षेषु च॒ त्वं नो॒ अत्र॑ सुवता॒दना॑गसः ॥ अचित्ती यच्चकृमा दैव्ये जने दीनैर्दक्षैः प्रभूती पूरुषत्वता । देवेषु च सवितर्मानुषेषु च त्वं नो अत्र सुवतादनागसः ॥
If, Savitā, through ignorance, through pride in feeble or powerful (dependants), or through human infirmity, we have committed (offence) against your divine person n, or against gods or men, do you on this occasion hold us to be unoffending.
english translation
न प्र॒मिये॑ सवि॒तुर्दैव्य॑स्य॒ तद्यथा॒ विश्वं॒ भुव॑नं धारयि॒ष्यति॑ । यत्पृ॑थि॒व्या वरि॑म॒न्ना स्व॑ङ्गु॒रिर्वर्ष्म॑न्दि॒वः सु॒वति॑ स॒त्यम॑स्य॒ तत् ॥ न प्रमिये सवितुर्दैव्यस्य तद्यथा विश्वं भुवनं धारयिष्यति । यत्पृथिव्या वरिमन्ना स्वङ्गुरिर्वर्ष्मन्दिवः सुवति सत्यमस्य तत् ॥
(It is) not (fit) to obstruct (the acts) of the divine Savitā, since by them he upholds the whole world, wheeby his gracious hand spreads fertility over the extent of the earth, and the magnitude of the heaven; such is his true (power).
english translation
इन्द्र॑ज्येष्ठान्बृ॒हद्भ्य॒: पर्व॑तेभ्य॒: क्षयाँ॑ एभ्यः सुवसि प॒स्त्या॑वतः । यथा॑यथा प॒तय॑न्तो वियेमि॒र ए॒वैव त॑स्थुः सवितः स॒वाय॑ ते ॥ इन्द्रज्येष्ठान्बृहद्भ्यः पर्वतेभ्यः क्षयाँ एभ्यः सुवसि पस्त्यावतः । यथायथा पतयन्तो वियेमिर एवैव तस्थुः सवितः सवाय ते ॥
You elevate those, of whom Indra is chief, above the vast clouds; for these, (your worshippers), you provide dwelling (plural ces) filled in habitations; as when advancing they detained you, so in like manner at your command they stayed.
