र॒क्षो॒हणं॑ वा॒जिन॒मा जि॑घर्मि मि॒त्रं प्रथि॑ष्ठ॒मुप॑ यामि॒ शर्म॑ । शिशा॑नो अ॒ग्निः क्रतु॑भि॒: समि॑द्ध॒: स नो॒ दिवा॒ स रि॒षः पा॑तु॒ नक्त॑म् ॥ रक्षोहणं वाजिनमा जिघर्मि मित्रं प्रथिष्ठमुप यामि शर्म । शिशानो अग्निः क्रतुभिः समिद्धः स नो दिवा स रिषः पातु नक्तम् ॥
I offer clarified butter to the powerful Agni, the slayer of rākṣasas, I approach the most spaciousdwelling, the friend (of worshippers); Agni sharpening (his flames) is kindled by pious men; may he guard us from malignant spirits by day and by night.

अयो॑दंष्ट्रो अ॒र्चिषा॑ यातु॒धाना॒नुप॑ स्पृश जातवेद॒: समि॑द्धः । आ जि॒ह्वया॒ मूर॑देवान्रभस्व क्र॒व्यादो॑ वृ॒क्त्व्यपि॑ धत्स्वा॒सन् ॥ अयोदंष्ट्रो अर्चिषा यातुधानानुप स्पृश जातवेदः समिद्धः । आ जिह्वया मूरदेवान्रभस्व क्रव्यादो वृक्त्व्यपि धत्स्वासन् ॥
Jātavedas, who have teeth of iron, consume the Yātudhānas' flame when kindled, destroy thedestructive (spirits) with your tongue, cut up the eaters of flesh, and put them in your mouth.

उ॒भोभ॑यावि॒न्नुप॑ धेहि॒ दंष्ट्रा॑ हिं॒स्रः शिशा॒नोऽव॑रं॒ परं॑ च । उ॒तान्तरि॑क्षे॒ परि॑ याहि राज॒ञ्जम्भै॒: सं धे॑ह्य॒भि या॑तु॒धाना॑न् ॥ उभोभयाविन्नुप धेहि दंष्ट्रा हिंस्रः शिशानोऽवरं परं च । उतान्तरिक्षे परि याहि राजञ्जम्भैः सं धेह्यभि यातुधानान् ॥
Agni, the destroyer (of the rākṣasas), who have two (rows of teeth), sharpening them both, applythem to (the rākṣasas, and preserve) both the upper and the lower (world); and march, radiant (Agni, againstthe rākṣasas) in the firmament, seize the yātudhānas with your jaws.

य॒ज्ञैरिषू॑: सं॒नम॑मानो अग्ने वा॒चा श॒ल्याँ अ॒शनि॑भिर्दिहा॒नः । ताभि॑र्विध्य॒ हृद॑ये यातु॒धाना॑न्प्रती॒चो बा॒हून्प्रति॑ भङ्ध्येषाम् ॥ यज्ञैरिषूः संनममानो अग्ने वाचा शल्याँ अशनिभिर्दिहानः । ताभिर्विध्य हृदये यातुधानान्प्रतीचो बाहून्प्रति भङ्ध्येषाम् ॥
Agni, do you, bending your arrows by means on your sacrifices and praise, and sharpening thejavelins with your splendours, pierce with them the yātudhānas to the heart, break their arms when raised against you.

अग्ने॒ त्वचं॑ यातु॒धान॑स्य भिन्धि हिं॒स्राशनि॒र्हर॑सा हन्त्वेनम् । प्र पर्वा॑णि जातवेदः शृणीहि क्र॒व्यात्क्र॑वि॒ष्णुर्वि चि॑नोतु वृ॒क्णम् ॥ अग्ने त्वचं यातुधानस्य भिन्धि हिंस्राशनिर्हरसा हन्त्वेनम् । प्र पर्वाणि जातवेदः शृणीहि क्रव्यात्क्रविष्णुर्वि चिनोतु वृक्णम् ॥
Agni Jātavedas, cut through the skin of the yātudhānas, let your destructive thunderbolt destroyhim with its fire; sever his joints, may the flesh-desiring flesh-eater devour his mutilated body.
