नमो॑ मि॒त्रस्य॒ वरु॑णस्य॒ चक्ष॑से म॒हो दे॒वाय॒ तदृ॒तं स॑पर्यत । दू॒रे॒दृशे॑ दे॒वजा॑ताय के॒तवे॑ दि॒वस्पु॒त्राय॒ सूर्या॑य शंसत ॥ नमो मित्रस्य वरुणस्य चक्षसे महो देवाय तदृतं सपर्यत । दूरेदृशे देवजाताय केतवे दिवस्पुत्राय सूर्याय शंसत ॥
(Having offered) adoration to Sūrya, the beholder of Mitra and Varuṇa, the mighty, the divine, thefar-seer, the god-born, the manifester (of all things), the son of heaven; celebrate the rite enjoined by him, andsing his praise.
english translation
सा मा॑ स॒त्योक्ति॒: परि॑ पातु वि॒श्वतो॒ द्यावा॑ च॒ यत्र॑ त॒तन॒न्नहा॑नि च । विश्व॑म॒न्यन्नि वि॑शते॒ यदेज॑ति वि॒श्वाहापो॑ वि॒श्वाहोदे॑ति॒ सूर्य॑: ॥ सा मा सत्योक्तिः परि पातु विश्वतो द्यावा च यत्र ततनन्नहानि च । विश्वमन्यन्नि विशते यदेजति विश्वाहापो विश्वाहोदेति सूर्यः ॥
May that world of truth everywhere protect me, through which it is that the heaven and earth, and daysand nights, extend; all the rest of creation which trembles has rest (there); the waters daily (flow), the sun rises every day.
english translation
न ते॒ अदे॑वः प्र॒दिवो॒ नि वा॑सते॒ यदे॑त॒शेभि॑: पत॒रै र॑थ॒र्यसि॑ । प्रा॒चीन॑म॒न्यदनु॑ वर्तते॒ रज॒ उद॒न्येन॒ ज्योति॑षा यासि सूर्य ॥ न ते अदेवः प्रदिवो नि वासते यदेतशेभिः पतरै रथर्यसि । प्राचीनमन्यदनु वर्तते रज उदन्येन ज्योतिषा यासि सूर्य ॥
No ancient rākṣasa abides, Sūrya, near you when you desire to yoke to your chariot your rapidsteeds; one ancient radiance follows (you) while you rise with another.
english translation
येन॑ सूर्य॒ ज्योति॑षा॒ बाध॑से॒ तमो॒ जग॑च्च॒ विश्व॑मुदि॒यर्षि॑ भा॒नुना॑ । तेना॒स्मद्विश्वा॒मनि॑रा॒मना॑हुति॒मपामी॑वा॒मप॑ दु॒ष्ष्वप्न्यं॑ सुव ॥ येन सूर्य ज्योतिषा बाधसे तमो जगच्च विश्वमुदियर्षि भानुना । तेनास्मद्विश्वामनिरामनाहुतिमपामीवामप दुष्ष्वप्न्यं सुव ॥
With that light, Sūrya, with which you disperse the darkness, and with that radiance with which youquicken every moving thing, remove from us all famine, neglect of oblations, sickness and evil dreams.

विश्व॑स्य॒ हि प्रेषि॑तो॒ रक्ष॑सि व्र॒तमहे॑ळयन्नु॒च्चर॑सि स्व॒धा अनु॑ । यद॒द्य त्वा॑ सूर्योप॒ब्रवा॑महै॒ तं नो॑ दे॒वा अनु॑ मंसीरत॒ क्रतु॑म् ॥ विश्वस्य हि प्रेषितो रक्षसि व्रतमहेळयन्नुच्चरसि स्वधा अनु । यदद्य त्वा सूर्योपब्रवामहै तं नो देवा अनु मंसीरत क्रतुम् ॥
When invoked, you who are genitive le protect the rite of every (worshipper); you rise after the svadhāofferings; when today we call upon you, may the gods be propitious to our sacred acts.
