अता॑रिष्म॒ तम॑सस्पा॒रम॒स्योषा उ॒च्छन्ती॑ व॒युना॑ कृणोति । श्रि॒ये छन्दो॒ न स्म॑यते विभा॒ती सु॒प्रती॑का सौमन॒साया॑जीगः ॥ अतारिष्म तमसस्पारमस्योषा उच्छन्ती वयुना कृणोति । श्रिये छन्दो न स्मयते विभाती सुप्रतीका सौमनसायाजीगः ॥
We have crossed over the boundary of darkness. Uṣas restores the consciousness (of living beings); bright-shining, she smiles, like a flatterer to obtain favour, and, lovely in all her radiance, she has swallowed, for our delight the darkness.
english translation
भास्व॑ती ने॒त्री सू॒नृता॑नां दि॒वः स्त॑वे दुहि॒ता गोत॑मेभिः । प्र॒जाव॑तो नृ॒वतो॒ अश्व॑बुध्या॒नुषो॒ गोअ॑ग्राँ॒ उप॑ मासि॒ वाजा॑न् ॥ भास्वती नेत्री सूनृतानां दिवः स्तवे दुहिता गोतमेभिः । प्रजावतो नृवतो अश्वबुध्यानुषो गोअग्राँ उप मासि वाजान् ॥
The brilliant daughter of the sky, the exciter of plural asant voices, is praised by the descendants of Gotama. Uṣas, grant us food associated with progeny and dependants, and distinguished by horses and cattle.

उष॒स्तम॑श्यां य॒शसं॑ सु॒वीरं॑ दा॒सप्र॑वर्गं र॒यिमश्व॑बुध्यम् । सु॒दंस॑सा॒ श्रव॑सा॒ या वि॒भासि॒ वाज॑प्रसूता सुभगे बृ॒हन्त॑म् ॥ उषस्तमश्यां यशसं सुवीरं दासप्रवर्गं रयिमश्वबुध्यम् । सुदंससा श्रवसा या विभासि वाजप्रसूता सुभगे बृहन्तम् ॥
May I obtain, Uṣas, that ample wealth with confers fame, posterity, troops of slaves, and is characterized by horses; which you, who abount in riches and are the giver of food, display, (when gratified) by hymns and holy sacrifices.
english translation
विश्वा॑नि दे॒वी भुव॑नाभि॒चक्ष्या॑ प्रती॒ची चक्षु॑रुर्वि॒या वि भा॑ति । विश्वं॑ जी॒वं च॒रसे॑ बो॒धय॑न्ती॒ विश्व॑स्य॒ वाच॑मविदन्मना॒योः ॥ विश्वानि देवी भुवनाभिचक्ष्या प्रतीची चक्षुरुर्विया वि भाति । विश्वं जीवं चरसे बोधयन्ती विश्वस्य वाचमविदन्मनायोः ॥
The divine (Uṣas), having lighted up the whole world, spreads, expanding with her radiance, towards the west, arousing all living creatures to their labours; she hears the speech of all endowed with thought.

पुन॑:पुन॒र्जाय॑माना पुरा॒णी स॑मा॒नं वर्ण॑म॒भि शुम्भ॑माना । श्व॒घ्नीव॑ कृ॒त्नुर्विज॑ आमिना॒ना मर्त॑स्य दे॒वी ज॒रय॒न्त्यायु॑: ॥ पुनःपुनर्जायमाना पुराणी समानं वर्णमभि शुम्भमाना । श्वघ्नीव कृत्नुर्विज आमिनाना मर्तस्य देवी जरयन्त्यायुः ॥
The divine and ancient Uṣas, born again and again and bright with unchanging hues, wastes away the life of a mortal, like the wife of a hunter cutting up and dividing the birds.
