[वै] ततॊ विराटं परथमं युधिष्ठिरॊ; राजा सभायाम उपविष्टुम आव्रजत वैडूर्य रूपान परतिमुच्य काञ्चनान; अक्षान स कक्षे परिगृह्य वाससा ॥ ४-६-१ ॥
'[Vaiśampāyana said:] Then Yudhishthira, the king, was the first to enter the city of Virata and went to sit in the royal assembly. Having wrapped up dice that looked like sapphires (vaidūrya) and gold, he tucked them into the folds of his garment and approached (the king).' ॥ 4-6-1 ॥
