'Swiftly launching countless arrows, the warriors, standing at a distance in the fray, filled the battlefield with a roar, like fearsome demons.' ।। 4-58-6 ।।
'Then, the mighty warrior, dreadful and divine, loosed an Indra-like celestial weapon from his Gandiva, blazing with the radiance of the sun.' ।। 4-58-8 ।।
'Like the blazing sun scorching the earth, the mighty son of Kunti, crowned and garlanded, swept over all the Kuru warriors with his shower of arrows.' ।। 4-58-9 ।।
यथाबलाहके विद्यूत पावकॊ वा शिलॊच्चये तथा गाण्डीवम अभवद इन्द्रायुधम इवाततम ।। ४-५८-१० ।।
'As lightning strikes from a towering cloud, or as fire erupts upon a lofty rock, so did the Gandiva blaze forth, like Indra’s own weapon.' ।। 4-58-10 ।।
