ततॊ दवादश वर्षाणि परवेष्टव्यं वनं पुनः एकस्मिन्न अपि विज्ञाते परतिज्ञातं हि नस तथा ॥ ४-५-११ ॥

'The moment even one of us is recognized, we shall, as per our vow, be forced to spend another twelve years in the forest.' ॥ 4-5-11 ॥

english translation

tatò davAdaza varSANi paraveSTavyaM vanaM punaH ekasminna api vijJAte paratijJAtaM hi nasa tathA ॥ 4-5-11 ॥

इयं कूटे मनुष्येन्द्र गहहा महती शमी भीम शाखा दुरारॊहा शमशानस्य समीपतः ॥ ४-५-१२ ॥

'Arjuna said: "Near that cemetery, and close to an inaccessible height, stands a mighty Shami tree, its vast branches spreading wide, and difficult to climb."' ॥ 4-5-12 ॥

iyaM kUTe manuSyendra gahahA mahatI zamI bhIma zAkhA durAròhA zamazAnasya samIpataH ॥ 4-5-12 ॥

न चापि विद्यते कश चिन मनुष्य इह पार्थिव उत्पथे हि वने जाता मृगव्यालनिषेविते ॥ ४-५-१३ ॥

'I believe, O son of Pandu, that no man will see us if we hide our weapons there. That tree stands deep within a secluded forest teeming with wild beasts and serpents, and lies in the vicinity of a desolate cremation ground.' ॥ 4-5-13 ॥

na cApi vidyate kaza cina manuSya iha pArthiva utpathe hi vane jAtA mRgavyAlaniSevite ॥ 4-5-13 ॥

समासज्यायुधान्य अस्यां गच्छामॊ नगरं परति एवम अत्र यथाजॊषं विहरिष्याम भारत ॥ ४-५-१४ ॥

'Arjuna said: "Let us stow away our weapons in the Sami tree, O Bharata, and go to the city. There we shall live, free from anxiety."' ॥ 4-5-14 ॥

samAsajyAyudhAnya asyAM gacchAmò nagaraM parati evama atra yathAjòSaM vihariSyAma bhArata ॥ 4-5-14 ॥

'Vaisampayana continued: Having spoken thus to the righteous king Yudhishthira, O bull of the Bharata race, Arjuna made ready to hide the weapons.' ॥ 4-5-15 ॥
