इमौ हि बाणौ सहितौ पादयॊर मे वयवस्थितौ अपरौ चाप्य अतिक्रान्तौ कर्णौ संस्पृश्य मे शरौ ॥ ४-४८-६ ॥
'Behold—these two shafts, meeting in flight, fall at my feet, while two others speed past, grazing my ears.' ॥ 4-48-6 ॥
english translation
निरुष्य हि वनेवासं कृत्वा कर्माति मानुषम अभिवादयते पार्थः शरॊत्रे च परिपृच्छति ॥ ४-४८-७ ॥
'His exile completed and many wondrous feats accomplished, Partha salutes me and murmurs words into my ear.' ॥ 4-48-7 ॥
english translation
[अर्ज] इषुपाते च सेनाया हयान संयच्छ सारथे यावत समीक्षे सैन्ये ऽसमिन कवासौ कुरु कुलाधमः ॥ ४-४८-८ ॥
'Beholding the Kurus drawn up for battle, Arjuna spoke to the son of Matsya in words befitting the hour: ‘O charioteer, hold the steeds at such a distance that my arrows may reach the foe. Meanwhile, let me see where, in the midst of this host, lurks that wretched scion of the Kuru race.'' ॥ 4-48-8 ॥

सर्वान अन्यान अनादृत्य दृष्ट्वा तम अति मानिनम तस्य मूर्ध्नि पतिष्यामि तत एते पराजिताः ॥ ४-४८-९ ॥
'Passing by all others, I shall single out that vainest of princes and strike him down; for when that wretch is overthrown, the rest will deem themselves already vanquished.' ॥ 4-48-9 ॥

एष वयवस्थितॊ दरॊणॊ दरौणिश च तदनन्तरम भीष्मः कृपश च कर्णश च महेष्वासा वयवस्थिताः ॥ ४-४८-१० ॥
'There stands Drona, and beside him his son; and there are those mighty bowmen—Bhishma, Kripa, and Karna.' ॥ 4-48-10 ॥
