अग्रतः सूतपुत्रस तु कर्णस तिष्ठतु दंशितः अहं सर्वस्य सैनस्य पश्चात सथास्यामि पालयन ॥ ४-४७-१९ ॥
'Let Karna of the Suta lineage, armored for battle, command the vanguard. As for myself, I shall station in the rear, from where I can oversee and protect the entire army.' ॥ 4-47-19 ॥

agrataH sUtaputrasa tu karNasa tiSThatu daMzitaH ahaM sarvasya sainasya pazcAta sathAsyAmi pAlayana ॥ 4-47-19 ॥
