धनूंषि च महार्हाणि बाणांश च रुचिरान बहून आदाय परययौ वीरः स बृहन्नड सारथिः ।। ४-३५-२१ ।।
'With Vrihannala holding the reins, the youthful hero set out, taking with him many splendid bows and a large collection of beautifully feathered arrows.' ।। 4-35-21 ।।
अथॊत्तरा च कन्याश च सख्यस ताम अब्रुवंस तदा बृहन्नडे आनयेथा वासांसि रुचिराणि नः ।। ४-३५-२२ ।।
'Then Uttara and her companions, the young maidens, said to Vrihannala, 'O Vrihannala, do bring for us beautiful and fine garments (for our dolls) when you return.' ।। 4-35-22 ।।
'O princess of Panchala, I shall bring back fine, delicate, and variously decorated garments— but only after vanquishing in battle the assembled Kurus, with Bhishma and Drona at their head.' ।। 4-35-23 ।।
'Smiling at their words, Partha, the son of Pandu, whose voice was deep like the rumble of rain-laden clouds, replied to that gathering of fair maidens.' ।। 4-35-24 ।।
'Thus addressed by the princess and her companions, Partha, son of Pandu, smiling gently, his voice deep like the rumble of storm clouds, replied— "If this Uttara indeed defeats those mighty warriors in battle, Bhishma, Drona, and the rest, then surely will I bring back fine, celestial garments, delicate, adorned, and richly patterned, for your dolls, O Panchali."' ।। 4-35-25 ।।
