गॊपालानां तु घॊषेषु हन्यतां तर महारथैः आरावः सुमहान आसीत संप्रहारे भयंकरे ॥ ४-३३-६ ॥
'A great cry of distress arose from the cowherds, struck down by those warriors in that fierce assault.' ॥ 4-33-6 ॥

गवाध्यक्षस तु संत्रस्तॊ रथम आस्थाय स तवरः जगाम नगरायैव परिक्रॊशंस तदार्तवत ॥ ४-३३-७ ॥
'The chief among the cowherds, terrified and distressed, swiftly mounted his chariot and sped toward the city, lamenting in great anguish.' ॥ 4-33-7 ॥

स परविश्य पुरं राज्ञॊ नृप वेश्माभ्ययात ततः अवतीर्य रथात तूर्णम आख्यातुं परविवेश ह ॥ ४-३३-८ ॥
'And entering the royal city, he made his way straight to the palace. Hastily descending from his chariot, he entered to report what had occurred.' ॥ 4-33-8 ॥

दृष्ट्वा भूमिंजयं नाम पुत्रं मत्स्यस्य मानिनम तस्मै तत सर्वम आचष्ट राष्ट्रस्य पशुकर्षणम ॥ ४-३३-९ ॥
'There, seeing Bhuminjaya, the proud son of the Matsya king, he informed him of the seizure of the royal herds.' ॥ 4-33-9 ॥

षष्टिं गवां सहस्राणि कुरवः कालयन्ति ते तद विजेतुं समुत्तिष्ठ गॊधनं राष्ट्रवर्धनम ॥ ४-३३-१० ॥
'The Kauravas are driving away sixty thousand head of cattle. Arise, O prince, upholder of the kingdom’s honour! Set forth at once to reclaim thy kine!' ॥ 4-33-10 ॥
