राजपुत्र हितप्रेप्सुः कषिप्रं निर्याहि वै सवयम तवां हि मत्स्यॊ महीपालः शून्यपालम इहाकरॊत ।। ४-३३-११ ।।

sanskrit

'O prince, if thou truly seekest the welfare of the realm, then delay not—go forth thyself at once! For the king of the Matsyas hath entrusted thee with the protection of this now-empty city.' ।। 4-33-11 ।।

english translation

rAjaputra hitaprepsuH kaSipraM niryAhi vai savayama tavAM hi matsyò mahIpAlaH zUnyapAlama ihAkaròta || 4-33-11 ||

तवया परिषदॊ मध्ये शलाघते स नराधिपः पुत्रॊ ममानुरूपश च शूरश चेति कुलॊद्वहः ।। ४-३३-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'In the royal court, thy father proudly declares, ‘My son is a hero, my equal in might, the upholder of our lineage.'' ।। 4-33-12 ।।

english translation

tavayA pariSadò madhye zalAghate sa narAdhipaH putrò mamAnurUpaza ca zUraza ceti kulòdvahaH || 4-33-12 ||

इष्वस्त्रे निपुणॊ यॊधः सदा वीरश च मे सुतः तस्य तत सत्यम एवास्तु मनुष्येन्द्रस्य भाषितम ।। ४-३३-१३ ।।

'Skilled in arms and arrows, he is ever endowed with courage.’—Let the words of that lord of men be proven true today!' ।। 4-33-13 ।।

iSvastre nipuNò yòdhaH sadA vIraza ca me sutaH tasya tata satyama evAstu manuSyendrasya bhASitama || 4-33-13 ||

आवर्तय कुरूञ जित्वा पशून पशुमतां वर निर्दहैषाम अनीकानि भीमेन शरतेजसा ।। ४-३३-१४ ।।

'O chief of herd-owners! Bring back the cattle after vanquishing the Kurus, and scorch their forces with the blazing energy of thy arrows.' ।। 4-33-14 ।।

Avartaya kurUJa jitvA pazUna pazumatAM vara nirdahaiSAma anIkAni bhImena zaratejasA || 4-33-14 ||

धनुश्च्युतै रुक्मपुङ्खैः शरैः संनतपर्वभिः दविषतां भिन्ध्य अनीकानि गजानाम इव यूथपः ।। ४-३३-१५ ।।

'Like a mighty elephant charging into a herd, pierce through the ranks of the enemy with straight-flying shafts, their wings tipped with gold, loosed from thy bow.' ।। 4-33-15 ।।

english translation

dhanuzcyutai rukmapuGkhaiH zaraiH saMnataparvabhiH daviSatAM bhindhya anIkAni gajAnAma iva yUthapaH || 4-33-15 ||
