वैडूर्यान काञ्चनान दान्तान फलैर जयॊती रसैः सह कृष्णाक्षाँल लॊहिताक्षांश च निर्वर्त्स्यामि मनॊरमान ।। ४-१-२१ ।।

'As a courtier in the service of that high-souled monarch, I shall dwell at his side. There, on elegant chessboards, I shall move ivory pawns—white, red, blue, and yellow— guided by the fall of black and red dice, delighting the king with my skill in play.' ।। 4-1-21 ।।

आसं युधिष्ठिरस्याहं पुरा पराणसमः सखा इति वक्ष्यामि राजानं यदि माम अनुयॊक्ष्यते ।। ४-१-२२ ।।

'If the king should question me, I shall say, ‘I was once the closest companion of Yudhishthira—cherished as dearly as his very life.' ।। 4-1-22 ।।

AsaM yudhiSThirasyAhaM purA parANasamaH sakhA iti vakSyAmi rAjAnaM yadi mAma anuyòkSyate || 4-1-22 ||
