एवम एतन महाबाहॊ यथा स भगवान परभुः अब्रवीत सर्वभूतेशस तत तथा न तद अन्यथा ॥ ४-१-११ ॥
'Yudhishthira said: “O mighty-armed ones, it is indeed just as the adorable Lord of all beings has declared — it cannot be otherwise."' ॥ 4-1-11 ॥
english translation
अवश्यं तव एव वासार्थं रमणीयं शिवं सुखम संमन्त्र्य सहितैः सर्वैर दरष्टव्यम अकुतॊभयम ॥ ४-१-१२ ॥
'Now, after due deliberation, let us choose a region that is pleasant, auspicious, and secure — a place where we may dwell in peace and safety, free from all fear.' ॥ 4-1-12 ॥

मत्स्यॊ विराटॊ बलवान अभिरक्षेत स पाण्डवान धर्मशीलॊ वदान्यश च वृद्धश च सुमहाधनः ॥ ४-१-१३ ॥
'The aged Virata, king of the Matsyas, is virtuous, mighty, and generous, and he is well-regarded by all.' ॥ 4-1-13 ॥

विराटनगरे तात संवत्सरम इमं वयम कुर्वन्तस तस्य कर्माणि विहरिष्याम भारत ॥ ४-१-१४ ॥
'Moreover, he holds affection for the Pandavas. In the city of Virata itself, O son, we shall spend this year, O Bharata, by entering into his service.' ॥ 4-1-14 ॥

यानि यानि च कर्माणि तस्य शक्ष्यामहे वयम कर्तुं यॊ यत स तत कर्म बरवीतु कुरुनन्दनाः ॥ ४-१-१५ ॥
'So tell me, O sons of the Kuru race, in what roles each of you will present yourselves before the king of the Matsyas!' ॥ 4-1-15 ॥
