आभाति पद्मवद वक्त्रं सस्वेदं मल्लिकेव च वेदीमध्या दीर्घकेशी ताम्राक्षी नातिरॊमशा ॥ २-५८-३६ ॥
'Even when covered with sweat, her face resembles the lotus or jasmine. With a slender waist like a wasp, long flowing hair, red lips, and a smooth body, the princess of Panchala, Draupadi, is such a woman.' ॥ 2-58-36 ॥

AbhAti padmavada vaktraM sasvedaM mallikeva ca vedImadhyA dIrghakezI tAmrAkSI nAtiròmazA ॥ 2-58-36 ॥

'O King, with Draupadi, the beautifully formed princess of Panchala, as the stake, I will now gamble with you. Alas, O son of Suvala, I challenge you with her as my stake.' ॥ 2-58-37 ॥

tayaivaM vidhayA rAjana pAJcAlyAhaM sumadhyayA galahaM dIvyAmi cArva aGgyA daraupadyA hanta saubala ॥ 2-58-37 ॥

'O King, the assembly was greatly disturbed, and discussions erupted among the kings. The presence of Bhishma, Drona, Kripa, and the overall tension led to considerable agitation.' ॥ 2-58-39 ॥

'Grasping his head, Vidura seemed bereft of life. He stood there, absorbed in thought, with his face lowered and sighing deeply, like a serpent.' ॥ 2-58-40 ॥
