'Bringing jewels from Lake Vindu, the Asura architect Maya constructed a surface of crystal that resembled a lake for the Pandavas. Seeing the artificial lotuses with which it was adorned, I mistook it for a real lotus-filled lake.' ।। 2-46-26 ।।
'O king, as I drew up my garments to cross the water, Vrikodara (Bhima) laughed at me, thinking I was disheveled and overwhelmed by the sight of my enemy's affluence, and lacking in jewels.' ।। 2-46-27 ।।
तत्र सम यदि शक्तः सयां पातयेयं वृकॊदरम सपत्नेनावहासॊ हि स मां दहति भारत ।। २-४६-२८ ।।
'Had I the power, O king, I would have swiftly slain Vrikodara for his insolence. But, O monarch, if we attempt to kill Bhima now, we will surely meet the same fate as Sisupala.' ।। 2-46-28 ।।
'O Bharata, that insult by the foe burneth me. Once again, O king, beholding a similar lake that is full of water but which I mistook for a crystal surface.' ।। 2-46-29 ।।
