नीचेऽर्धमस्तगेऽप्यर्धं हरणं तत्र कारयेत्। शत्रुक्षेत्रे त्रिभागोनं दृश्यार्द्धहरणं तथा॥४६॥
If a planet be debilitated or eclipsed, then also it will lose half its contribution. A planet posited in an enemy's house will lose ⅓ of its contribution. The reduction in the contribution of planets that are posited in the visible half of the zodiac will have to be made as before.

रणभङ्गे त्रिकांशोनं तथा पातेऽर्कचन्द्रयोः। बहुले हरणे प्राप्ते कारयेद्बलवत्तरम्॥४७॥
For a planet vanquished in planetary war or occupying a position within the (पात) range of the Sun and the Moon, a reduction by a third should be made. When several reductions crop up for a single planet, only the greatest need be done.

पश्चात्संयोज्य तत्सर्वं वाराङ्गेन विवर्धितम्। मातङ्गलब्धं शुद्धायुर्भवतीति न संशयः॥४८॥
The figures for the several planets should be added up and multiplied by 324 and divided by 365. The quotient got will be undoubtedly the net Ayus contributed by all the planets.

पूर्ववद्दिनमासाब्दं कृत्वा तस्य दशा भवेत्। एवं ग्रहाणां सर्वेषां दशां कुर्यात् पृथक् पृथक्॥४९॥
The Dasa of each planet in terms of years, months, days etc., should be found out in the above manner. Thus should the Dasas of all the planets be found out separately.

अष्टवर्गदशामार्गः सर्वेषामुत्तमोत्तमः। केन्द्रेष्वन्यतमस्थे शशिनि ग्रहसंयुतेऽष्टवर्गेण। आयुर्दायं कुर्याद्दशमर्क्षे क्रूरसौम्ययुते॥५०॥
Of all the systems of Dasas (Ayus), the Ashtakavarga one is the very best. One's Ayurdaya should be computed by the Ashtakavarga process, when the Moon in conjunction with a planet is posited in one of the Kendras, and the 10th house is occupied by both benefics and malefics.
