अपरं दशानुनयनं स्वयमार्गेण जीवशर्मोक्तम्। तस्मादायुर्दायं वक्ष्ये विषयप्रकारं च॥२१॥
There is another method of finding out the Dasa (total life period) expounded by Jeevasarman according to his own doctrine. (A planet contributes according to him, one-seventh of the maximum period of of man's existence i. e., 120 years, 5 days.) Hence, I shall now treat of that system of Ayurdaya and also the procedure for calculating the same.

नीचोच्चविवरगकला विभज्य ननतायरैः समा लब्धाः। रम्य नल नात गुणिता विभज्य तेनैव मासदिननाड्यः॥२२॥
Find the difference between a planet's actual position and its debilitation-point and convert the Fame into minutes. Divice the result by 21660. The quotient thus obtained will give the years. Multiply the remainder by 12 and divide the product by 21600 and the quotient will reveal the months. Again multiply the remainder by 30 and divide the product as before. The quotient will give the days. Now multiply the remainder got, by 60 and divide as before, and the quotient will give the Ghatis.

सय(17)यज्ञ(1)रुद्र(22)ज(8)बला(35)च्छोध्यं तुङ्गात्समीपतः पिण्डम्। नीचसमीपात्पिण्डं विवरं यदि तेषु संयोज्यम्॥२३॥
If the planet occupies a position close to its exaltation point, subtract the figure representing its position from 17 years, 1 month, 22 days, 8 ghatikas and 34 Vighatikas. If it is near its debilitation-point, then the difference should be added to them.

हरणं यत्पूर्वोक्तं प्रथमेऽप्यत्रापि कारयेत्प्राज्ञः। मन्दसितमूढहरणं भौमस्य न शत्रुहरणं च॥२४॥
A wise man should do all the deductions mentioned already, save for Saturn and Venus when they are eclipsed and for Mars when he occupies an inimical house.

होरायामुदितांशप्रमाणमायुर्ददाति लग्नं च। पापग्रहे तु लग्ने चतुरंशस्त्यज्यतेऽन्यथा तु युतिः॥२५॥
The Lagna contributes for a man's life as many years as there are Navamsas that have risen. If there should be a malefic posited in the Lagna, the contribution for the Lagna will have to be reduced by onefourth. If, on the other hand, a benefic occupies it, the contribution should be enhanced by a fourth.
