शीर्षादि संस्पृशेत्प्रष्टा प्रश्ने तद्राशिमादिशेत्। भक्ष्याहृताकाररुतैश्चिन्तयेत्तद्विशेषकम्॥२१॥
If at query the querist should touch the head or any limb of his body, the birth should be declared to have happened when that Rasi indicated by the limb was rising. The details of it may also be determined by the articles of food if any that may be brought, any forms that may appear on the scene or any cry that may be heard at the time.

Find the strongest of the planets at the time of query and also note the Rasi occupied by the same, and how far the Lagna at query is removed from that Rasi. The Lagna at birth will be so far removed from that Rasi.

graheSvadhikaviryo yaH sa yatrAste gRhe tataH। praznalagnaM bhavedyAvAttAvallagnamitIrayet॥22॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआरूढराशिं जन्मर्क्षं तत्त्रिकोणमथापि वा। ग्रहयोगेक्षणे वाऽपि तत्क्षेत्रं जन्ममं विदुः॥२३॥
Or, the Rasi at birth will be the same as the आरूढराशि or its triangular Rasi. Or, it will be the Rasi which is conjoined with or aspected by the relative planets.

Find the number of Rasis between the Arudha and the rising signs; and count so many asterisms reckoning from Aswini. This will be the Janma Nakshatra of the querist.

ArUDhodayaparyantaM yAvanto rAzayastadA। tAvantyazvyAdi bhAni syurjanmarkSaM pRcchakasya tu॥24॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआरूढराशेरुदयो द्विगुण्यो नक्षत्रसंख्यासहितो विभक्तः। सुरैश्च शिष्टा तुरगादिवारा जन्मर्क्षमस्मादथवा त्रिकोणः॥२५॥
Note the distance between the आरूढलग्न and the उरुदयोलग्न and multiply the same by 2. Add to this the number of the asterism at the time and divide this sum by 27. The Janma Nakshatra will be so many stars after Aswini when reckoned by this remainder or its triangular one.
