द्विगुणास्त्रिगुणाः कार्या मात्रा: प्रष्टुर्मुखोद्गतास्तास्तु। विभजेत्सुरैश्च शिष्टं नक्षत्रं चाश्विनीपूर्वम्॥२६॥

The Kiranas or Rays for the 12 Rasis from Mesha onwards are 9, 8, 14, 8, 11, 9, 6, 7, 5, 10, 8, and 14 respectively. (Here विश्व and इन्द्र are tentatively taken to represent 14 and 8 respectively, since the universe consists of 14 worlds and Indra means 8 लोकपालाः)

hk transliteration by Sanscriptविंशत्यष्टादशरविमनुभूपालः स्मृतिर्दिशः सूर्यात्। किरणानां संख्याः स्युः पूर्वोक्तास्ते मयात्र निर्दिष्टाः॥२८॥
The Kiranas or rays of the several planets from the Sun onwards are represented by the numbers : 20, 18, 12, 14, 8, 18, and 10. This is as stated by ancient authors, and I have only repeated them here.

The numbers denoting the आरूढ and the rising signs, should be multiplied by the Kiranas of the composed Rasis according to the Rules and the products divided respectively by 12 and 27. The respective remainders will reveal the Rasi and Nakshatra of the querist.

Or, when the Rasi aforesaid has no planet in it, it should be multiplied by the appropriate rays of the Rasi of the planet posited and the product divided by 27 and 13. The remainder will reveal the Nakshatra and the Rasi required.
