आरूढराशेरुदयो द्विगुण्यो नक्षत्रसंख्यासहितो विभक्तः। सुरैश्च शिष्टा तुरगादिवारा जन्मर्क्षमस्मादथवा त्रिकोणः॥२५॥

Note the distance between the आरूढलग्न and the उरुदयोलग्न and multiply the same by 2. Add to this the number of the asterism at the time and divide this sum by 27. The Janma Nakshatra will be so many stars after Aswini when reckoned by this remainder or its triangular one.

ArUDharAzerudayo dviguNyo nakSatrasaMkhyAsahito vibhaktaH। suraizca ziSTA turagAdivArA janmarkSamasmAdathavA trikoNaH॥25॥
