लग्नसुतरन्ध्रभानां पतियोगे यत्र कुत्र राशौ वा। सार्धं सुतेन मरणं तथैव दारेशसंयुते दारैः॥४१॥
When the lords of the Lagna, the 5th and the 8th houses are conjoined in any Rasi, the native will die along with his son. Similarly if the lords of the Lagna, the 7th and the 8th houses are combined in any Rasi, he will die along with his wife.

Generally, when a Dasa that is running is coming to a close, death may happen in the ordinary way. During the interval of a Dasa which is severe and cruel, one will die through the malefic planetary conditions pertaining to the 8th house.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिधनेश्वरांशराशेः समानभूमौ मृतिं विजानीयात्। स्थलजलराश्यंशवशाद्देशेऽन्तं कल्पयेत् स्वदिग्भागे॥४३॥
The place of one’s death and surroundings will be indicated by the Rasi or Navamsa occupied by the lord of the 8th house. The place whether land or water, and the direction will be indicated by the nature of the Rasi or Amsa.

nidhanezvarAMzarAzeH samAnabhUmau mRtiM vijAnIyAt। sthalajalarAzyaMzavazAddeze'ntaM kalpayet svadigbhAge॥43॥

When the Lagna at birth is a night-sign (declared strong at night), the death of the person concerned will happen at night. If the sign in question be a day-sign, it will be at day-time. When there is no planet in the Lagna, the effect declared as due to the Rasi will alone come to pass; else, i, e., when the Lagna is occupied by a planet, the effect due to that planet should also be taken into consideration.

The unconscious state at the time of death lasts for such time as is measured by the interval taken for the rising period of the portion of the Lagna below the horizon provided the Lagna is occupied by a benefic. If the lord of the 8th house be in his exaltation Rasi or Navamsa and be conjoined with a malefic, then the period is trebled.
