- Mandi or Gulika, multi-coloured; and Rahu resembles the dark collyrium. Though the colour assigned to a Rasi is pleasant or good, it assumes the shade of the planet it is conjoined with.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्वांशक्षेत्रगतो वा ग्रहयोगविवर्जितो निजोक्तगुणः। अन्यर्क्षग्रहयुक्तस्तद्ग्रहतद्वर्णमिश्रनिजवर्णः॥२३॥
A planet not conjoined with another, when posited in his own Kshetra or Amsa will reveal fully his natural qualities (such as colour, etc.); if, on the other hand, he be posited in another's Rasi (or Amsa) or conjoined with another planet, he would have his natural colour influenced by (mixed with) those of the Rasi or the planet as the case may be.

svAMzakSetragato vA grahayogavivarjito nijoktaguNaH। anyarkSagrahayuktastadgrahatadvarNamizranijavarNaH॥23॥

The Sun has a square body, pink eyes, sparse hair, on the body and head. He has no permanent residence in any place. He is lazy, weak-kneed and has a prepossessing countenance and pleasing words.

The Moon is tall (long), of tender heart intelligent, compassionate, proficient in polities (knower of morality or manners), of the nature of wind and bile, adorned with white clothes and ornaments and is perfectly round-bodied.
