मृत्यु सुतनीलसौम्या नपुंसकाश्चेति विज्ञेयाः । शुक्रगुरू विप्रेशौ रविभौमौ क्षत्रियौ च विट् चन्द्रः॥१६॥

अन्तरजातिः सौम्यो वृषलो मन्दोऽन्त्यजातिरिन्दुरिपुः। राहु शनि केतु भौमाः क्रूराः पापो रविः शशी कृष्णः॥१७॥
- Mercury is of mixed breed; Saturn is a Sudra; and Rahu is an outcaste. Rahu, Saturn, Ketu, Mars and the Sun are to be understood as malefics; so also the Moon, in the dark fortnight.

बुधगुरुशुक्राः सौम्याः शुक्लः सौम्यः शशी ज्ञेयः। शुक्रबुधौ राजसिकौ गुरुशशिरवयस्तु सात्विका ज्ञेयाः॥१८॥
Mercury, Jupiter and Venus are known as benefics; so is the Moon in the bright fortnight. Mercury and Venus are of the quality of Rajas (greed); Jupiter, the Sun and the Moon of Satva (goodness); . -

भौमशनिसैंहिकेयास्तमोगुणाः सर्वकार्येषु। पित्ताधिकौ रविकुजौ वातश्लेष्माधिकौ तु चन्द्रसितौ॥१९॥
