As the reflection of the moon in water is perceived as one as well as many, so also, the jiva ( embodied self) being attached to attributes (maya illusion) is jiva and without attributes it is sadashiva.

जिस प्रकार जल में चंद्रमा का प्रतिबिंब एक और अनेक के रूप में देखा जाता है, उसी प्रकार गुणों (माया भ्रम) से जुड़ा हुआ जीव भी जीव है और गुणों के बिना वह सदाशिव है।
