मूलाऽऽधारे कुण्डलिनी भुजगाकाररूपिणी । जीवाऽऽत्मा तिष्ठति तत्र प्रदीपकलिकाकृतिः । ध्यायेत्तेजोमयं ब्रह्म तेजोध्यानं परात्परम् ॥६-१६॥
Kundalini Shakti in the shape of a snake resides in our Muladhar Chakra. The soul also resides (exists) there, just like the flame of a lamp. There one should meditate on Brahma, the form of light. This luminous meditation has been called the best meditation.

हमारे मूलाधार चक्र में सर्प की आकृति वाली कुण्डलिनी शक्ति विराजमान है । वहीं पर दीपक की लौ के समान जीवात्मा का भी निवास ( विद्यमान ) है । वहाँ पर प्रकाश स्वरूप ब्रह्मा का ध्यान करना चाहिए । इस तेजोमय ध्यान को श्रेष्ठ ध्यान कहा गया है ।

भ्रुवोर्मध्ये मनोर्ध्वे च यत्तेजः प्रणवाऽऽत्मकम् । ध्यायेज्ज्वालाऽऽवलीयुक्तं तेजोध्यानं तदेव हि ॥६-१७॥
The light in the form of Pranava (Omkar) is present between the eyebrows and above the mind. There is a luminous meditation filled with infinite flames. Meditating on it is also called Jyoti Dhyan.

दोनों भौहों के बीच में और मन से ऊपर जो प्रणव रूपी तेज ( ओंकार ) है । वहाँ पर अनन्त ज्वालाओं से परिपूर्ण ( युक्त ) जो तेजोमय ध्यान है । उसका ध्यान करना भी ज्योति ध्यान कहलाता है ।

अथ सूक्ष्मध्यानम् । घेरण्ड उवाच । तेजोध्यानं श्रुतं चण्ड सूक्ष्मध्यानं शृणुष्व मे । बहुभाग्यवशाद्यस्य कुण्डली जाग्रती भवेत् ॥६-१८॥
Hey Chand! After listening to the luminous meditation (Jyoti meditation), now listen to the subtle meditation. That seeker is very fortunate whose Kundalini Shakti gets awakened.

हे चण्ड! तेजोमय ध्यान ( ज्योति ध्यान ) सुनने के बाद अब सूक्ष्म ध्यान को सुनो । वह साधक बहुत भाग्यशाली होता है जिसकी कुण्डलिनी शक्ति जाग्रत हो जाती है ।

आत्मना सह योगेन नेत्ररन्ध्राद्विनिर्गता । विहरेद्राजमार्गे च चञ्चलत्वान्न दृश्यते ॥६-१९॥
After this, with the help of the soul, that power comes out through the eyes and wanders on the highway and which is not visible due to fickleness.

इसके बाद वह शक्ति आत्मा के सहयोग से आँखों के माध्यम से बाहर निकल कर राजमार्ग पर विचरण करती ( घूमती ) है और जो चञ्चलता के कारण दिखाई नहीं देती है ।

शाम्भवीमुद्रया योगी ध्यानयोगेन सिध्यति । सूक्ष्मध्यानमिदं गोप्यं देवानामपि दुर्लभम् ॥६-२०॥
Yogi practitioner perfects meditation yoga through Shambhavi Mudra. This subtle meditation is rare (difficult to obtain) even for the gods. Therefore it should be kept completely secret.

योगी साधक शाम्भवी मुद्रा के माध्यम से ध्यान योग को सिद्ध करता है । यह सूक्ष्म ध्यान देवताओं के लिए भी दुर्लभ ( कठिनता से प्राप्त होने वाला ) होता है । अतः इसे पूरी तरह से गुप्त रखना चाहिए ।
