हृदि प्राणो वहेन्नित्यमपानो गुदमण्डले । समानो नाभिदेशे तु उदानः कण्ठमध्यगः ॥५-६१॥
Prana travels or is situated in the heart region, Apana in the anus region, Samana in the navel region, Udana in the throat region and Vyana in the entire body.

प्राण हृदय प्रदेश में, अपान गुदा प्रदेश में, समान नाभि प्रदेश में, उदान कण्ठ प्रदेश में व व्यान सम्पूर्ण शरीर में गमन अथवा स्थित होता है ।

व्यानो व्याप्य शरीरे तु प्रधानाः पञ्च वायवः । प्राणाद्याः पञ्च विख्याता नागाद्याः पञ्च वायवः ॥५-६२॥
Of these, five Prana, Apana, Samana, Udana and Vyana are the main ones and Naga, Kurma, Krikal, Devdutt and Dhananjaya Uppraana are secondary.

कृकरः क्षुत्कृते ज्ञेयो देवदत्तो विजृम्भणे । न जहाति मृते क्वाऽपि सर्वव्यापी धनञ्जयः ॥५-६४॥
Krikal Vayu is used in sneezing, Devadatta Vayu is used in yawning and the one which remains in the body for some time even after death is a Vayu called Dhananjay.

छीकनें में कृकल वायु, जम्भाई लेने में देवदत्त वायु व जो मरने के भी कुछ समय तक शरीर में ही स्थित रहती है वह धनञ्जय नामक वायु होती है ।

नागो गृह्णाति चैतन्यं कूर्मश्चैव निमेषणम् । क्षुत्तृषं कृकरश्चैव जृम्भणं चतुर्थेन तु । भवेद्धनञ्जयाच्छब्दं क्षणमात्रं न निःसरेत् चित्तं धनञ्जयः शब्दं लक्षमात्रं न विस्मरेत् ॥५-६५॥
The air called Naga or Prana absorbs the consciousness, the work of opening and closing is accomplished with Kurma air. Hunger and thirst are experienced through Krikal Vayu, yawning is done through Devdutt and Dhananjay Vayu never leaves the body even for a moment.

नाग नामक वायु अथवा प्राण चेतना को ग्रहण करती है, कूर्म वायु से खोलने व बन्द करने का कार्य सम्पन्न होता है । भूख- प्यास का अनुभव कृकल वायु से, जम्भाई लेने का कार्य देवदत्त से होता है व धनञ्जय वायु कभी भी शरीर को एक पल के लिए भी नहीं छोड़ता ।
