सुकृतैर्दुष्कृतै: कार्यैर्जायते प्राणिनां घट: । घटादुत्पद्यते कर्म घटियन्त्रं यथा भ्रमेत् ॥१-६॥
sanskrit
This human body originates from good and bad deeds only. Just as the Ghatiyantra (in olden times, the machine used to extract water from the ground with the help of oxen, which was called Rahat) keeps rotating from top to bottom. In the same way, our body keeps performing actions and due to those actions the body keeps coming into existence. It is a kind of life cycle which keeps rotating like a wheel.

Just as due to the continuous rotation of the Ghatiyantra, its containers (which contain water) keep rotating from top to bottom. In the same way, man also keeps going through the cycles of birth and death due to his deeds (good and bad or Krishna and Shukla deeds).

sanskrit
Just as if water is poured into a raw pot, it starts melting continuously. Like that raw pot, man's body keeps getting weaker every moment. By heating that pot of body in the fire of yoga, it becomes completely purified. Just as a pot does not melt with water after it is heated in fire. Similarly, in this verse, yoga has been considered as the form of fire and body has been considered as the form of a pitcher.

Which are as follows – Shodhana (purification), Dridhatha (strength), Sthairya (steadiness), Dhairya (patience), Laghav (lightness), Pratyaksha (realization) and Nirlipta (state of detachment). In the next verses, compound actions related to all these organs have been described.
