शुचौ देशे प्रतिष्ठाप्य स्थिरमासनमात्मनः । नात्युच्छ्रितं नातिनीचं चैलाजिनकुशोत्तरम् ॥ ६-११ ॥
Having established for himself, in a clean spot, a firm seat, which is neither too high nor too low, and covering it with Kusa grass, deer-skin and then cloth one over the other.

शुद्ध भूमिपर, जिसपर क्रमशः कुश, मृगछाला और वस्त्र बिछे हैं, जो न अत्यन्त ऊँचा है और न अत्यन्त नीचा, ऐसे अपने आसनको स्थिरस्थापन करके।

तत्रैकाग्रं मनः कृत्वा यतचित्तेन्द्रियक्रियः । उपविश्यासने युञ्ज्याद्योगमात्मविशुद्धये ॥ ६-१२ ॥
The yogi should then sit on it very firmly and should practice yoga by controlling the mind and the senses, purifying the soul and fixing the mind on one point.

उस आसनपर बैठकर चित्त और इन्द्रियोंकी क्रियाओंको वशमें रखते हुए मनको एकाग्र करके अन्तःकरणकी शुद्धिके लिये योगका अभ्यास करे।

समं कायशिरोग्रीवं धारयन्नचलं स्थिरः । सम्प्रेक्ष्य नासिकाग्रं स्वं दिशश्चानवलोकयन् ॥ ६-१३ ॥
Holding the body, the head and the neck erect and motionless; remaining firm; looking properly at his own nose-tip; and not looking at [different] directions;

काया, सिर और ग्रीवा को समान और अचल धारण किये हुए स्थिर होकर अपनी नासिका के अग्र भाग को देखकर अन्य दिशाओं को न देखता हुआ।

प्रशान्तात्मा विगतभीर्ब्रह्मचारिव्रते स्थितः । मनः संयम्य मच्चित्तो युक्त आसीत मत्परः ॥ ६-१४ ॥
He should remain seated with a placid mind, free from fear, firm in the vow of a celibate (a Brahmachari), and with the mind fixed on Me by controlling it through concentration, having Me as the supreme Goal.

जिसका अन्तःकरण शान्त है, जो भय-रहित है और जो ब्रह्मचारिव्रतमें स्थित है, ऐसा सावधान योगी मनका संयम करके मेरेमें चित्त लगाता हुआ मेरे परायण होकर बैठे।

युञ्जन्नेवं सदात्मानं योगी नियतमानसः । शान्तिं निर्वाणपरमां मत्संस्थामधिगच्छति ॥ ६-१५ ॥
Concentrating the mind thus for ever, the yogi of controlled mind achieves the Peace which culminates in Liberation (Param Nirvana) and which abides in Me.

नियत मनवाला योगी मनको इस तरहसे सदा परमात्मामें लगाता हुआ मेरेमें सम्यक् स्थितिवाली जो निर्वाणपरम शान्ति है, उसको प्राप्त हो जाता है।
