यष्टीकषायः सेकस्तु क्षीरं चन्दनसाधितम् । पक्ष्मणां सदने सूच्या रोमकूपान् विकुट्टयेत् ॥ १८ ॥

Washing/cleansing of the eyelid should be done with a decoction of yashtimadhu (Glycyrrhiza glabra), and irrigating or bathing the eye (seka) should be carried out using milk processed with chandana (Santalum album). In the condition of falling/loss of eyelashes (pakṣma-sadana), the hair follicles (romakūpa) at the base of the lashes should be carefully pricked or scarified using a fine needle.
