सिन्धूत्थपिप्पलीमद्वा पिष्टैः क्षौद्रयुतैरथ । राठपुष्पैः स्तनौ लिम्पेच्छिशोश्च दशनच्छदौ ॥ १७ ॥

Alternatively, a paste made from saindhava (rock salt) and pippalī (Piper longum), or the paste of rāṭha-puṣpa (flowers of Randia dumetorum) mixed with honey, should be smeared over the breasts of the mother and the lips (daśanacchada) of the infant.

sindhUtthapippalImadvA piSTaiH kSaudrayutairatha । rAThapuSpaiH stanau limpecchizozca dazanacchadau ॥ 17 ॥
