दक्षिणेन दधत्सूचीं पालीमन्येन पाणिना । मध्यतः कर्णपीठस्य किञ्चिद्गण्डाश्रयं प्रति ॥ ३० ॥
The physician should hold the needle with his right hand and the earlobe (pali) with the other hand. The piercing should be done in the center of the earlobe, slightly towards the cheek.
