यात्यग्निर्मन्दतां तस्मात् क्रमं पेयादिमाचरेत्। स्रुताल्पपित्तश्लेष्माणं मद्यपं वातपैत्तिकम्॥४६॥
ence the regimen of Peya- thin Gruel etc. should be followed. Peya should not be given when only little quantities of Pitta and Kapha are expelled out, to the person is Addicted to wine, and in whom Vata and Pitta are Predominant;

yAtyagnirmandatAM tasmAt kramaM peyAdimAcaret। srutAlpapittazleSmANaM madyapaM vAtapaittikam॥46॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपेयां न पाययेत्तेषां तर्पणादिक्रमो हितः। अपक्वं वमनं दोषान् पच्यमानं विरेचनम्॥४७॥
for them regimen of Tarpana etc. – nourishing therapy are suitable. Vamana (Emesis) brings out Doshas which are not cooked (processed by heat)

peyAM na pAyayetteSAM tarpaNAdikramo hitaH। apakvaM vamanaM doSAn pacyamAnaM virecanam॥47॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिर्हरेद्वमनस्यातः पाकं न प्रतिपालयेत्। दुर्बलो बहुदोषश्च दोषपाकेन यः स्वयम्॥४८॥
Whereas Virechana (purgation) brings out the Doshas which have undergone Paka (cooking- process by heat); hence in case of emesis – the physician need not await Doshapaka (cooking of the Doshas). Person who is weak, who has great amount of increased Doshas develops purgation on his own –

nirharedvamanasyAtaH pAkaM na pratipAlayet। durbalo bahudoSazca doSapAkena yaH svayam॥48॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविरिच्यते भेदनीयैर्भोज्यैस्तमुपपादयेत्। दुर्बलः शोधितः पूर्वमल्पदोषः कृशो नरः॥४९॥

who have little amount of imbalanced Doshas, who are emaciated and whose nature of the alimentary tract is not known should be given mild purgative drug in a small dose; It is better given in small doses often;
