उत्तरौष्ठं च यो लिह्यादुत्कारांश्च करोति यः | प्रेतैर्वा भाषते सार्धं प्रेतरूपं तमादिशेत् ||१६||

A patient who licks his upper lip, is troubled with eructations, or holds conversations with the departed, should be deemed as already entered into the region of the dead.

जिस रोगी की ऊपरी होंठ को चाटता है, जो डकारों से परेशान है, या मृतकों से बात करता है, उसे मृत मान लेना चाहिए।

खेभ्यः सरोमकूपेभ्यो यस्य रक्तं प्रवर्तते | पुरुषस्याविषार्तस्य सद्यो जह्यात् स जीवितम् ||१७||

sanskrit

A man, spontaneously bleeding through the roots of his hair or other orifices, otherwise than in a case of poisoning, should be deemed as dying on that day.

जिस व्यक्ति का रक्त बिना किसी विषाक्तता के बालों की जड़ों या अन्य छिद्रों से स्वतः बह रहा हो, उसे उसी दिन मृत्यु की ओर बढ़ता मान लेना चाहिए।

A patient, affected with an up-coursing pain about the cardiac region, like the one which distinguishes a case of Vatashtila (appearance of a stone-like lump rising or seated within the thorax and ascribed to the action of the deranged Vayu), accompanied by an aversion to food, should be already reckoned among the dead.

जिस रोगी को हृदय क्षेत्र में एक पत्थर जैसा उभार उठने का दर्द हो, जो वाताश्टीला (वात दोष के कारण) के लक्षण की तरह हो, और जिसे भोजन से नफरत हो, उसे मृत मान लेना चाहिए।

An idiopathic swelling (Shopha) first occurring in either of the lower extremities in a male patient, or a similar swelling first appearing at the face, or about the region of the anus in a female patient, is sure to have a fatal termination.

यदि किसी पुरुष के पैरों में स्वाभाविक सूजन हो, या किसी महिला के चेहरे या गुदा क्षेत्र में सूजन हो, तो यह निश्चित रूप से मृत्यु की ओर ले जाती है।

A patient suffering from cough or asthma accompanied by dysentery, fever, hiccough, vomiting, and swelling of the penis and scrotum should be given up as lost.

जिस रोगी को खांसी या दमा के साथ अतिसार, बुखार, हिचकी, उल्टी और लिंग व अंडकोष की सूजन हो, उसे मृत मान लेना चाहिए।
