द्विषच्छब्देषु रमते सुहृच्छब्देषु कुप्यति | न शृणोति च योऽकस्मात्तं ब्रुवन्ति गतायुषम् ||६||

sanskrit

The person who delights in the sounds of his enemies and becomes upset at the sounds of his friends, or who suddenly loses the ability to hear without any apparent reason, is considered to be nearing the end of life.

यस्तूष्णमिव गृह्णाति शीतमुष्णं च शीतवत् | सञ्जातशीतपिडको यश्च दाहेन पीड्यते ||७||

sanskrit

The person who feels cold when touching a hot substance or experiences a burning sensation when exposed to a boil or a Kaphaja postule (characterized by numbness and shivering), or who shivers even when the body temperature is high, should be considered as nearing the end of life.

The person who shivers excessively in cold conditions, who does not recognize pain from injuries, or who fails to feel pain even when a limb is amputated, should be considered as nearing the end of life.

The person who perceives his body as being covered with dust or who notices discoloration in his skin that appears in the form of blue or red stripes, or who is troubled by numerous blue flies after a bath or anointment, should be regarded as nearing the end of life.

The person who, despite not using any perfume, emits a pleasant fragrance or who perceives a sweet taste as sour, or vice versa, should be regarded as nearing the end of life.
