एकान्तहितान्येकान्ताहितानि तु प्रागुपदिष्टानि, हिताहितानि तु यद्वायोः पथ्यं तत् पित्तस्यापथ्यमिति ||७||

The substances that are exclusively beneficial or exclusively harmful have already been described earlier. However, substances that are beneficial or harmful according to the nature of Vata and Pitta are those that are beneficial for Vata but harmful for Pitta, and vice versa.

Substances that become harmful due to their combinations, although they may be beneficial individually, are those which, when combined, become poisonous. For example, the Valli fruit, Karaka, Karira, sour fruits, salt, Kulattha pulse, Pinyaka, curd, oil, Virohi, cakes, dried pot-herbs, goat's flesh, mutton, wine, Jamboline fruit, Chilichima fish, flesh of Godha (wild boar), and Varaha should not be consumed together with milk.
