अत ऊर्ध्वमितरथादग्धलक्षणं वक्ष्यामः | तत्र, स्निग्धं रूक्षं वाऽऽ(चा)श्रित्य द्रव्यमग्निर्दहति; अग्निसन्तप्तो हि स्नेहः सूक्ष्मसिरानुसारित्वात्त्वगादीननुप्रविश्याशु दहति; तस्मात् स्नेहदग्धेऽधिका रुजो भवन्ति ||१५||

We will now explain the characteristics of burning that occur upward or differently. In such cases, whether the substance is oily or dry, the fire burns it; the fire, when heated, quickly burns the oil because it is fine and does not enter the skin and other layers; therefore, the pain caused by burning due to oil is more intense.

अब हम ऊपर की ओर या अन्य प्रकार से दाह के लक्षणों की व्याख्या करेंगे। ऐसे मामलों में, चाहे पदार्थ चिकना हो या सूखा, आग उसे जलाती है; जब आग गर्म होती है, तो तेल को जल्दी जलाती है क्योंकि यह सूक्ष्म होता है और त्वचा और अन्य परतों में प्रवेश नहीं करता; इसलिए, तेल के कारण जलन में दर्द अधिक तीव्र होता है।
