sanskrit

In the first month, the embryo begins to form; in the second, a dense combination of the great elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space—becomes manifest if the mass is male; if female, it takes the form of flesh. If it is neuter, it is called a miraculous occurrence. In the third month, five embryonic parts of the limbs and the head begin to develop, and the division of body parts becomes subtle. In the fourth month, the division of all body parts becomes clear; due to the manifestation of the heart of the fetus, it is said to exhibit consciousness. Why is this? Because it occupies a place in the body. Therefore, the fetus at four months engages in activities related to the senses, and a woman with two hearts is called a dual-minded one. From the duality of her mind, she gives birth to a malformed, deformed, dumb, short, or ugly child, but if she wishes for something good, she will give birth to a long-lived and valiant son.
