गाढं बद्धेऽरिष्टया प्रच्छिते वा तीक्ष्णैर्लेपैस्तद्विधैर्वाऽवशिष्टैः | शूने गात्रे क्लिन्नमत्यर्थपूति ज्ञेयं मांसं तद्विषात् पूति कष्टम् ||५६||

If the body is severely bound or has suffered from a destructive condition, with the limbs swollen and emitting an excessive foul odor, it should be known that the flesh is contaminated with poison, which causes the unpleasant and severe odor.

सद्यो विद्धं निस्रवेत् कृष्णरक्तं पाकं यायाद्दह्यते चाप्यभीक्ष्णम् | कृष्णीभूतं क्लिन्नमत्यर्थपूति शीर्णं मांसं यात्यजस्रं क्षताच्च ||५७||

The flesh, if immediately pierced and drained, turns blackish-red, undergoes putrefaction, and becomes excessively heated. The flesh becomes dark, soaked with an extreme foul odor, and decomposed, often bleeding from the wounds and showing signs of decay due to injury.

The person who is affected by thirst, fainting, delirium, burning sensations, and fever, and shows all the signs previously mentioned, should be treated with a medicinal application to the wound. If this person is afflicted with wounds due to poison, the symptoms should be managed with the treatment as described earlier.

Wounds that are inflicted by a rat or snake bite, or those that are affected by poison, generally result in putrid flesh. These wounds should be treated by removing the decayed flesh and cleansing them with water and other appropriate methods, while also draining the blood from the wound.

After removing the impurities, the wound should be promptly treated by applying a proper cleansing technique both above and below the affected area. The wound should then be treated with a mixture of milk and herbal decoctions. For internal treatment, the patient should be given medicinal substances that are cold, poisonous, and antidotal, preferably those used for purging toxins, to promote healing.
