येनान्तरेण तु कलां कालकल्पं भिनत्ति हि | समीरणेनोह्यमानं तत्तु वेगान्तरं स्मृतम् ||४१||

The venom, by the action of air (vayu), disturbs the sequential stages of bodily tissues, effectively splitting or disrupting the normal progression over time, which is referred to as the "interval velocity" of venom.

शूनाङ्गः प्रथमे वेगे पशुर्ध्यायति दुःखितः | लालास्रावो द्वितीये तु कृष्णाङ्गः पीड्यते हृदि ||४२||

In the first stage of the venom's action, the animal, troubled and in pain, meditates with a feeling of emptiness. In the second stage, blood oozes from the body, and the animal experiences a heart-related affliction, with the body turning black.

In the third stage, the animal experiences pain in the head, and the throat and neck are affected. In the fourth stage, it trembles, becomes senseless, eats its own teeth, and loses its senses.
