स एव वर्णाश्रमिभिः क्रतुभिर्भूरिदक्षिणैः । इज्यमानो हविर्भागानग्रहीत्स्वेन तेजसा ।। ७-४-१५ ।।

sanskrit

Being worshiped by sacrifices offered with great gifts by those who strictly followed the principles of varṇa and āśrama, Hiraṇyakaśipu, instead of offering shares of the oblations to the demigods, accepted them himself. ।। 7-4-15 ।।

english translation

वर्णाश्रम धर्म का पालन करने वाले पुरुष बड़ी-बड़ी दक्षिणा वाले यज्ञ करके उसकी पूजा करते, तो वह यज्ञों की आहुतियाँ देवताओं को न देकर स्वयं ले लेता था। ।। ७-४-१५ ।।
