भूतेन्द्रियमनोलिङ्गान् देहानुच्चावचान् विभुः । भजत्युत्सृजति ह्यन्यस्तच्चापि स्वेन तेजसा ।। ७-२-४६ ।।

The five material elements, the ten senses and the mind all combine to form the various parts of the gross and subtle bodies. The living entity comes in contact with his material bodies, whether high or low, and later gives them up by his personal prowess. This strength can be perceived in a living entity’s personal power to possess different types of bodies. ।। 7-2-46 ।।

english translation

पाँच भौतिक तत्त्व, दस इन्द्रियाँ तथा मन—ये सभी मिलकर स्थूल तथा सूक्ष्म शरीरों के विभिन्न अंगों का निर्माण करते हैं। जीव अपने भौतिक शरीरों के सम्पर्क में आता है, चाहे ये उच्च हों या निम्न और बाद में अपनी निजी शक्ति से उन्हें त्याग देता है। यह शक्ति जीव की उस निजी शक्ति में देखी जा सकती है, जिससे वह विभिन्न प्रकार के शरीर धारण कर सकता है। ।। ७-२-४६ ।।
