यः प्रव्रज्य गृहात्पूर्वं त्रिवर्गावपनात्पुनः । यदि सेवेत तान् भिक्षुः स वै वान्ताश्यपत्रपः ॥ ७-१५-३६ ॥
One who accepts the sannyāsa order gives up the three principles of materialistic activities in which one indulges in the field of household life — namely religion, economic development and sense gratification. One who first accepts sannyāsa but then returns to such materialistic activities is to be called a vāntāśī, or one who eats his own vomit. He is indeed a shameless person. ॥ 7-15-36 ॥

जो संन्यास आश्रम स्वीकार करता है, वह धर्म, अर्थ तथा काम इन तीन भौतिकतावादी कार्यकलापों के सिद्धान्तों को छोड़ देता है, जिनमें मनुष्य गृहस्थ जीवन में लिप्त रहता है। जो व्यक्ति पहले संन्यास स्वीकार करता है, किन्तु बाद में ऐसी भौतिकतावादी क्रियाओं में लौट आता है, वह वान्ताशी अर्थात् अपनी ही वमन को खाने वाला कहलाता है। निस्सन्देह, वह निर्लज्ज व्यक्ति है। ॥ ७-१५-३६ ॥
